The new year
We knew what we were to be singing in the May concert. Faure’s Requiem is well known and some of had sung it before and were looking forward to learning more about it.
The other piece by Vaughan Williams – Dona Nobis Pacem was new to us. After tonight we are a bit daunted! It seems reminiscent of the War Requiem with a mixture of Latin text and first world war poetry. Very exciting music will take some practice – but that is why we meet every week!
